On March 16, students belonging to the various PODS put up an end of year spectacle.

The morning began with a well crafted display of Kalaripayattu, a martial art, which originated as a style in Kerala. Kalari is not only a means of self-defense but also a means to becoming determined and self disciplined. Inventure students, under the able guidance of their Master, Iris Boby, performed several complex steps and maneuvers which had the audience in rapture.

This was followed by a play – Man, the Saviour?

Global warming, as we all know, is the rise in the earth’s temperature. Its effects can be devastating. It has a direct impact on all living things. The play, Man, the Saviour?, is a humble attempt to create awareness in the young minds and the audience, in a very subtle and comical way. Around 30 Inventure students took part in this 13 weeks theater workshop conducted by Chiranthana – Academy for Theater, which finally culminated into the play, Man, the Saviour?

Next, the Dance group had 20 students from Grades 6, 7 and 8 perform various forms of dance. These included Urban Choreography, Hip Hop, Locking, and other street styles. They danced to tracks of 24K Magic by Bruno Mars, DJ Snake’s Middle and Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake.

Not to be left behind, the seven bands of the music POD, comprising 25-30 students from grades 6 to 8, played some well known tunes like House of the Rising Sun by The Animals, Clocks and Yellow by Coldplay, Let her Go by Passenger, and had the audience clapping and stomping to the beats.

Last, but not the least, the Art POD consisting of 26 students from Grades 6-8, held an exhibition where 240 art pieces were displayed, many curated by the students themselves. Throughout the academic year, the students have met with the art teachers to explore new dimensions to a pursuit they had already been exposed to. They attempted new techniques of gouache, a French method using opaque, water-based paint, and watercolours on handmade paper.

What an amazing pool of talent do Inventure students possess!! It was a fun filled and learning experience for all who were witness to the morning’s events!
