Inventure Academy supports Team Indus’ audacious attempt to soft land a Spacecraft on the Moon, navigate the lunar surface for 500 meters on their Rover and send back HD images to Earth. They are India’s only team competing in the Google Lunar X Prize (www.lunar.xprize.org). The team has made steady progress since founding in 2012 to build Aerospace and Engineering capabilities. Earlier this year, they won a Milestone Prize of $ 1Million towards completing their Landing technology. A proud moment for the team and a testimony to their capabilities and the top notch talent of former ISRO scientists and young space systems engineers.
The team has always believed that it could win the Lunar X Prize and successfully place the Indian Tri-color on the Moon. They are now well on trajectory to achieve the same in Quarter 3, 2017.
Whilst the challenge by itself is daunting, the financing of this project is an astronomical figure. TeamIndus believes that even that can be achieved by creating the largest collaborative funding to the biggest Moonshot project from India.
TeamIndus is a story of a young and aspiring India…. Humanity for that matter! Through their journey they aim to inspire millions of young and wise minds to reach out for their moonshots. They began their engagement journey with young minds at Inventure Academy and enclosed below are some photographs of the visits.
Inventure is spearheading the school initiative for TeamIndus! Rahul Narayan (Fleet Commander) and Sheelika Ravishankar (Jedi Master) at TeamIndus, are Inventure Academy parents. And we are proud to support them and India in this aspirational goal.
#BackTeamIndus is an integrated campaign to reach out to a billion Indians, all over the world, make them aware of our challenge, generate their support through followers and wishers on social media, enable them to track our milestones and seek their contributions to their funding goals.
They are sending Names to the Moon on a Cube in Q3 of 2017.
